Carers at Kiama!!

SSCSS took 18 carers to Kiama for a break on the weekend of May 3-5.  The weather was unusually warm for May, except on Saturday afternoon, when a small gale blew up.  This allowed the group to see the little and big blowholes in full operation!!   They also visited Saddleback Mountain lookout and Bombo headland.   Sunday returned a calm and beautiful day, and included a boardwalk at Minamurra Rainforest followed by lunch at Jamberoo Pub.

The carers appreciated a break from their usual responsibilities and stresses, a chance to talk, share, laugh and socialise with other carers, and time to relax in a lovely setting.  They gained information from SSCSS and each other about services and supports which can assist them in their caring role.

Thankyou to our volunteer bus driver Warren, who was very friendly, competent and obliging.
